My Cricut Craft Room's Theme Day Thursday "Sweet Treats"

Today over at My Cricut Craftroom is Theme Day Thursday.
The Theme for today is "Sweet Treats"

My husband's friend Jamie LOVES the New York Yankees
and had a Birthday coming up so, I thought I could join
 those two together.

One of my very favorite Cricut cartridges is Tags, Bags,
Boxes & More.  This cake box was cut with the fit to
page option on.  It ended up being 2 1/4 tall, 5 1/2 long
& 3 1/2 wide in the back. The blue paper is from Bazzill
and is really nice and thick so, it holds up really well.  I
think that is one of the tricks to making any of the boxes
on this cartridge.

The baseball is from Everyday Paper Dolls cut at 2
inches. I then backed it with another baseball cut out
of the blue paper at 2 1/4 inches.  To have it lifted off
the top of the box I added pop dots to the bottom of
the baseball. To make the NY look more like the
real NY design I cut the N out from Kate's ABCs
at 1 1/2 inches and the Y is from Old West cut at
1 1/2 inches.  I added pop dots to the N to have it
lift off the Y.

I love adding the little extra touches to make the boxes look
like a real piece of cake.  The dripping frosting is from the
Martha Stewart border punch called Drippy Goo. This was
a very sought after punch a few year ago because of all the
different way you can use it.  I ran the "frosting" trough my
Cuttlebug with the dots folder and them chalked them with
a blue chalk.  If you look closely in the pictures you can see a
little white tab on the back of the box.  I added a strip of twill
tape so Jamie could get at the "Sweet Treats" that were in his
box.  I filled a plastic treat bag with cake balls that I decorated
with blue and white chocolate.

Here is the web site to get some great direction on how to make
cake balls and cake pops.

Now that you have seen my "Sweet Treats" Please head on over to
My Cricut Craft Room to take a look at what my other Design Team
Sister have created for today.

Have a great day and come back soon for more fun crafts.

Sweet Wishes, Sharon
