Welcome to the Thankful Thursdays Back to School
Blog Hop, brought to you by Crazy About Cricut. If you
are joining me from my Design Team Sister Leah at:

Then you are in the right place.  If you just happened
across my blog and would like to hop along with me
and my DT sisters you can head on over to:

And start at the beginning.  I know all my DT sisters
did a fantastic job on their hop projects today. So, please
make sure to check out each of their Blogs and leave my
sisters some blog love.

For todays project I decided to make my daughter Emily
a special container to hold her school supplies on her
desk at home.  I used one of her favorite cartridges
Create a Critter.  Isn't the monkey cute?

For the base of the container I recycled an nut can I had
been saving for a project just like this one.  I used 2 boxes
of 24 Crayola Crayons to circle around the can.  I measured
the outside of the can to figure out how many crayons I
needed to go around it. After I figured out how many crayons
I needed I lined them up in the order how I wanted to glue them
on.  Then all you need to do is hot glue them around the can
making sure to keep them lined up straight because I found out
it is really easy for them to get crooked.

The monkey can be found on page 46.  I cut him out at
3 inches with double layers for added thickness.

  1. Sharon I love your container. I am going to do something special with your idea. I want to make something for son's teacher for the first day besides giving her one of the pencil's that we made. You'll have to stop over and see what I put together. Hehe; I love it when I get inspired just looking at pictures of projects online.

I love that you created a reasonably inexpensive project and it looks so adorable. I just love working recycling into crafts. <3
